Welcome to Marc Wheeler Educational Consultancy

With the right understanding and guidance, every child can thrive.

I am committed to fostering educational success for all children, with a particular focus on those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. Based in Devon, my mission is to provide affordable, high-quality support tailored to each pupil’s individual needs.

I believe that every child deserves the opportunity to thrive both academically and personally. My personalised assessments and tailored strategies are designed to identify strengths, highlight barriers to learning, and provide clear recommendations that enable pupils to succeed.

I offer a wide range of services, including autism screening and comprehensive cognitive and ability assessments, which can inform next steps for families and schools. Whether you are a parent seeking specialist support for your child, or an educational setting looking for expert advice, I am here to help. My aim is to unlock the potential in every pupil and to make a meaningful difference in their educational journey.

About me

My career in education began with a background in psychology, specialising in the assessment and support of pupils with Autism. This foundation has shaped my practice and instilled a lifelong commitment to ensuring that every child, regardless of their needs, has the opportunity to succeed. My passion is also rooted in personal experience of SEND, which has deepened my understanding and empathy, and strengthened my drive to advocate for inclusive practice and meaningful support for children and families.

Over the past 20 years, I have worked as a teacher, SENDCo, and school leader, and I am now proud to serve as Headteacher of a school where SEND and inclusion are at the heart of everything we do. In each of these roles, I have had the privilege of supporting numerous children, families, and schools, both directly and through wider system leadership. I have provided support and advice to schools across Cornwall, helping them to strengthen provision, remove barriers, and develop approaches that enable pupils to flourish. My success lies not only in the outcomes achieved by pupils but also in the strong, trusting relationships I have built with families and professionals along the way.

Beyond school leadership, I have been active in educational research, contributing to a publication that supported the reframing of Autism assessment. This work reflects my belief in evidence-based practice and my commitment to ensuring that assessment is used as a tool for empowerment, not limitation.

Although I am not available during school hours, my passion for supporting children with SEND and their families extends beyond my role as Headteacher. Through Marc Wheeler Educational Consultancy, I continue to offer help and guidance with availability at weekends and during school holidays. Whether it is an initial consultation, general advice, or a comprehensive educational and psychological report, I am committed to providing the highest quality support and making a positive difference wherever I can.
